Vista de Carmen is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom town house in the beautiful mountain village of Gaucín, home to Mérimée’s gypsy Carmen.
Quite frankly, Gaucín is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It is a classic Andalusian pueblo blanco (“white village”) slung like a hammock between two peaks, and the town’s famous views can be enjoyed from both the first and second floors.

The terrace is accessed from the living room and kitchen on the top floor. Retractable glass doors blur the boundaries between the house, the Genal Valley, the Rock of Gibraltar, the Med, and Morocco.
In summer the top reception spaces benefit from air-conditioning, and in winter the house is kept warm by electric fan heating and a lovely log-burner in the ground floor reception room.
ACCOMMODATION
The house works equally well for couples – when a bit of extra space and a bathroom each is a luxury – and for groups of up to 6. Reception spaces are set up for 4, but there are plenty of extra chairs in the house.
3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms
The 180cm double bed on the ground floor can also be arranged as 2 x 90cm single beds. The beds in the two first floor bedrooms are both doubles: 1 x 180cm double, and a smaller 140cm double.
The ground floor shower room comprises shower, basin and loo, and in the family bathroom you will find a shower over the bath, a bidet, basin and loo.
The Aesthetic
The house is tastefully styled to reflect both Spanish and Moorish influences – we have a great love of things Moroccan! The house also features locally-made furniture, and accessories in natural materials including fresh new cotton and linen sheets and towels. Presentation is rustic, in keeping with the village location.
